What would you like to know about plant based therapy or TeleGreen Medical?

TeleGreen helps by providing convenient access to our qualified, and experienced doctor (Dr Danny Cai). Dr Danny Cai can assess your condition, review your current treatments, advise on whether plant based therapy might help and, if so, prescribe it to you.

No. You can make a direct appointment if you wish.

You can also be referred to us by your GP, psychiatrist, pain specialist or any other speciality doctors. That can be helpful because it means we receive up to date information about your current treatment from your existing clinical team. We then communicate with them ensuring that they are aware of your treatment plan so that the care you receive is holistic.

Initial consultation is $149 and follow up appointments are $69.
*Fees may vary if you choose an in-person consultation

Currently we are telehealth only. We are looking at providing in person consultations in Sydney in the future.

All prescription medicines have side effects. The potential side effects of plant medicine include:

  • Fatigue
  • Vertigo/lightheadedness
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Tachycardia (rapid heart rate)
  • Changes in appetite
  • Dry mouth
  • Diarrhoea
  • Feelings of euphoria (intense happiness) or depression
  • Confusion
  • Thought distortions

If we prescribe plant medicine for you, we will monitor you carefully over the next few weeks and adjust the treatment if side effects become a problem. Side effects vary from one person to another and depending on which type of plant medicine you’ve been prescribed.

It’s a doctor who does not have to apply to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) each time they prescribe plant based therapy to an eligible patient. They’re experienced plant based therapy practitioners who have the authority to prescribe your prescription immediately, just as you would if the prescription was for a more common product like antibiotics.

Other doctors can also prescribe plant based therapy, however it can take several days to get your medication. That’s because a non-authorised prescriber has to apply to the TGA on your behalf and gain their approval before they can write a script.

Dr Danny Cai is an authorised prescriber, meaning we can help you get your medication quickly if you need it.

Unfortunately plant based therapy medicines are not yet subsidised through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme

Ask your fund, some do subsidise plant based therapy. If you need any documentation, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
