It’s a doctor who does not have to apply to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) each time they prescribe plant medicine to an eligible patient. They’re experienced plant medicine practitioners who have the authority to prescribe your prescription immediately, just as you would if the prescription was for a more common product like antibiotics.
Other doctors can also prescribe plant medicine, but it can take several days to get your medication. That’s because a non-authorised prescriber has to apply to the TGA on your behalf and gain their approval before they can write a script.
