Sometimes, pain persists despite attempts to relieve it with conventional treatments. That’s why patients just like you are exploring plant-based therapies to manage chronic conditions.
TeleGreen Medical offers eligible patients access to plant-derived treatments via telehealth consultations with GPs who are authorised prescribers.
Beyond chronic pain, Dr Cai has a special interest in mental health and insomnia. Given the vicious onslaught of these Covid years, we’ve dragged ourselves nearly to the end of 2022; spent, exhausted and still in shock. For those with existing mental health conditions, it has been exacerbated. Those who were without underlying conditions, anxiety, insomnia and even depression (loss of hope) have crept into our lives. We all can do with some extra TLC right now. Take some time out for yourself, exercise or talk to a loved one or your family physician. If this doesn’t help with your mood or sleep, perhaps plant based therapy might be suitable for you. Book an appointment with Dr Cai to discuss more.
TeleGreen Medical provides convenient, empathetic care for patients wondering whether plant-based therapies could relieve pain.

Medicinal cannabis may help with chronic pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in cancer, spasticity from multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety or insomnia.
Plant-based therapies are an emerging field, which can benefit some patients. The Therapeutic Goods Administration has summarised the available evidence here.
All prescription medicines have side effects. The potential side effects of medicinal cannabis include:
If we prescribe plant-based therapies for you, we will monitor you carefully over the next few weeks and adjust the treatment if side effects become a problem. Side effects vary from one person to another and depending on which type of medicinal cannabis you’ve been prescribed.
It’s a doctor who does not have to apply to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) each time they prescribe medicinal cannabis to an eligible patient. They’re experienced medical cannabis practitioners who have the authority to prescribe your prescription immediately, just as you would if the prescription was for a more common product like antibiotics.
Other doctors can also prescribe medicinal cannabis, but it can take several days to get your medication. That’s because a non-authorised prescriber has to apply to the TGA on your behalf and gain their approval before they can write a script.
TeleGreen Medical is an authorised prescriber, meaning we can help you get your medication quickly if you need it.
Unfortunately plant-based therapies are not yet subsidised through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme
Ask your fund, some do subsidise medical cannabis treatments. If you need any documentation, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
TeleGreen Medical is not promoting the use of medicinal cannabis. Medicinal cannabis does affect every person differently, due to factors such as size, weight, health, dosage, tolerance and age. Medicinal cannabis might not work for you, and you might experience side-effects. Information provided by TeleGreen Medical is for educational and informational purposes only. For medical advice, please refer to your doctor. Medicinal cannabis in Australia is regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and details about medicinal cannabis as a scheduled drug can be found on their website.
